Firm History
Paradigm Capital Management, Inc. was incorporated and registered with the SEC in 1994 to serve institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals.
The roots of the company date back to 1972, when founder Candace King Weir opened a research boutique dedicated to identifying undervalued small-capitalization equities. The firm proved its ability to pick small-cap stocks, and Paradigm Capital Management, Inc. was built on this solid foundation of market expertise. The firm maintains a research-oriented culture with strong emphasis on management contact and independent fundamental analysis.
Paradigm Capital Management's flagship Small Cap Value Institutional portfolio was launched in 1995, and has grown to $774 million in assets. Over the years, the firm added a SMid-Cap Value Institutional portfolio, a long/short equity hedge fund, a new all-cap value separate account strategy, and mutual funds in small-cap value, small-cap core, SMid-cap value, and mid-cap value styles.
