Candace King Weir, Chief Investment Officer Ms. Weir is well-respected in small-cap value investing, with a track record dating back to 1972, when she was one of the first women to open her own institutional research firm. Her success in identifying hidden value for investors led her to form an investment advisory practice in 1984 and incorporate as Paradigm Capital Management, Inc. in 1994. Ms. Weir received her BA from Vassar College.
Charles DiVencenzo, Chief Operating Officer Mr. DiVencenzo has more than 20 years of experience working with plan sponsors and other institutional investors. Most recently he was Vice President at The Hartford, where he developed new financial products for a variety of markets. He has a JD from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA from Canisius College.
Walter Prendergast, President and Portfolio Manager, Paradigm Capital Management Growth Advisors, Inc. Mr. Prendergast has researched, analyzed, and invested in small-cap equities since 1986. Most recently he served as Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, and Head of the Small Cap Growth Group for William D. Witter, where he managed a $400 million portfolio and a team of four investment professionals. Walter received his BBA in finance and investment management from Baruch College, and his MBA in management information systems from the Zicklin School of Business.
Morris Ajzenman, CFA, Portfolio Manager Mr. Ajzenman has been involved in the investment management industry since 1977. He has worked as an analyst or portfolio manager for Manufacturers Hanover, Bear Stearns Asset Management, Mitchell Hutchins/Rothschild Asset Management, and Lazard Asset Management. Morris earned his MBA from Pace University and his BA from Brooklyn College.
Jonathan Vyorst, Portfolio Manager Mr. Vyorst has worked for leading investment management organizations for more than a decade. Vyorst is part of the small-cap value portfolio management team, co-manager of the SMid-cap strategy, and Portfolio Manager of the firm's "Intrinsic Value" all-cap value strategy. Previously he was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at William D. Witter in Manhattan. Prior to Witter, he managed private client and smaller institutional accounts for Allianz Private Client Services, and worked as an equity research analyst at First Manhattan Company. Vyorst has a BA from Cornell University and an MBA from Yale.
Jason Ronovech, CFA, Portfolio Manager Mr. Ronovech joined Paradigm Capital Management in 2000. He currently is a portfolio manager on the Paradigm Value, Select, and Opportunity Funds, as well as part of the small-cap value and SMID-cap portfolio management teams. He was a senior analyst with an emphasis on the technology, consumer discretionary, and health care sectors. He previously worked for Prudential. Mr. Ronovech earned a BA from Hamilton College, and is a CFA charterholder.
Todd Denker, CFA, Senior Analyst Prior to joining Paradigm Capital Management, Inc., Mr. Denker was a Vice President and Equity Research Analyst at Credit Suisse Asset Management, LLC. where he was an analyst on the small cap value team. Denker has a BS in Business Administration from State University of New York at Albany and an MBA from New York University.
Curtis Lasek, Analyst Mr. Lasek joined Paradigm Capital Management in 2000 as an equity analyst focused primarily on Paradigm's small-cap value portfolio. Prior to joining Paradigm Capital Management, Inc., he was a senior credit analyst for Travelers and held various financial positions at Key Corp. Curtis has a BS in Accounting from West Virginia University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
Paradigm Capital Management, Inc. is structured in autonomous teams, each led by a portfolio manager and generally supported by a team of analysts. These teams are responsible for performance of their individual portfolios under the overall strategic direction of the Chief Investment Officer.
